Tall Ship Festival

posted in: Events, In the News | 2

The Tall Ship Festival is back in Bay City July 14 through July 17. We will have a few exciting things going on at the museum during this time!

The ships will be coming up river on Thursday July 14. They are stages in the Bay and then sail to their location in Veteran’s Park in small groups. The commonly come up to the Edson with their sails raised and they come close enough to her Port side that you can say hi to the crew. We will be firing salutes off with our Saluting Battery (which is loud). Madison Avenue Deli will have snacks, lunch, and drinks for sale in the Mess Deck. The Ship will be open for self-guided tours and you are welcome to stay to see all the ships as they come in. Regular admission rates will apply ($10 for adults, $8 for children) but there will be a $5 per vehicle parking charge. Tickets are on sale now! You may contact Carla at (989) 684-3946 or at svnsm.carla@gmail.com. If you email her, let her know how many tickets and parking passes you need.

On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday there will be a shuttle bus running from near the festival to SVNSM, the Antique Toy and Fire Truck Museum, and the Saginaw RIver Rear Range Light House. This special shuttle will provide guests with a $2 off coupon to tour the USS Edson.

We hope to see you!

If admission and parking tickets are still available for the 17 July date, I would like to purchase or reserve 2 of them on that date.

    • Robert, tickets to board the ship are still available. However, parking will have to be paid the day of the event unless you are able to pick up your passes by 4 PM Wednesday July 13. If you would like to purchase tickets by phone you can call the office Monday – Wednesday between 9 AM and 4 PM. We can also take information through email, if you’d like to go this route, email Carla at svnsm.carla@gmail.com and she will let you know what info she needs. Of course, you can always come by the gift shop if you are in the area.
